The HoAI Secretariat has made available on its website a Digital Trade Gap Assessment which surveys the trade-related Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) landscape of the HoAI countries to identify areas for future technical and financial assistance to promote ICT integration to facilitate trade.
The gap assessment has been prepared by gathering information from relevant stakeholders in each HOAI member country. The resulting report was subjected to validation by the same stakeholders through the submission of written comments and the hosting of virtual presentations covering its main findings and recommendations.
The gap assessment findings show a need to both commence new initiatives and continue those already in progress to support the HoAI countries to participate in regional ICT integration. The initiatives identified constitute the basis for advancing the HoAI trade facilitation agenda and guiding discussions on ICT matters of HoAI Ministers and development partners.
