Horn of Africa Initiative: Five Years of Progress highlights the joint achievements of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan since the Initiative’s launch in 2019.
With strong support from development partners—including the African Development Bank, the European Union, the UK Government via the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Government of Germany via the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the World Bank—the Initiative has advanced regional economic integration, boosted trade and connectivity, and mobilized over USD 10 billion in financing to promote stability, resilience, and shared prosperity across the Horn of Africa.
