The identification of priority projects adheres to a structured framework encompassing several key principles and criteria. Initially, projects were selected from a pre-established priority list valued at $15 billion, which was the result of country-led deliberations and subsequent endorsement by ministers during the ministerial meeting held in October 2019.
Furthermore, a critical consideration is the readiness for project delivery, emphasizing demonstrating early and tangible outcomes. While projects exhibiting advanced readiness are prioritized for investment, the provision of support for feasibility studies through various resources, including the MDTF, is also integral.
Finally, the principle of balance is applied, ensuring equitable distribution across the four Pillars and participating countries to optimize project impact and generate significant regional spillover benefits.
